In a few years practicing and teaching yoga I’ve noticed that a lot of people, especially with chronic pain or illness and joint issues shy away from yoga asana – the physical practice of yoga, believing it to be too demanding on the body; others practice through pain and injury, convinced that discomfort is just a part of the process.
Does it really have to be?
I believe our bodies have an immense potential and ability to heal. I’ve discovered that Yoga Therapy can be a cornerstone in the foundation of our health. Therapeutic yoga offers a global approach to healing chronic injury, pain and discomfort by providing strategies for unwinding the holding patterns, restoring structural and movement health, and providing emotional support and nurturing.
