Take that vow!

Ahimsa, the practice of non-violence or non-harming, is a popular topic in many yoga discussions. How far each of us chooses to take it is a very personal choice – one can be a quiet vegetarian, a peaceful environmentalist, or, like Mahatma Gandhi – take it a few notches up, creating a tidal wave of change in the world. My challenge for now – and I would like to invite you to join me – is to extend that very practice to myself. Ever went to a yoga class, only to hurt the next day? Or may be stayed in a relationships that betrays your commitment to yourself? Done something just to please someone? It seems, in one way or the other we all can relate to that experience.   Often times we’re kinder and more patient with others then ourselves. I take a vow  to myself, fully knowing that the insights gained in process will spill out into everything I do and every relationship I am in.
