Summer has finally arrived – the last two weeks have been sunny and hot. According to Ayurveda, it is the Pitta time of the year – hot and bright. The sun is at it’s strongest and our physical activity is high – we want to be outside and enjoy what summer has to offer – especially here, in Northern Alberta…

Here is the recepie of simple Ayurvedic tea that is cooling for both body and mind:summer-is-here-post

1 tsp of fennel seeds

1 tsp coriander seeds

1/2 tsp cumin seeds

10 fresh mint leaves

squeeze of lemon juice

(to taste) raw organic sugar

Place the ingredients in a medium saucepan with 4 cups filtered water, bring water to a boil for 5 minutes, and then steep for 2 to 5 minutes. Always add the lemon while the tea is steeping. Strain and enjoy!
